Setting agent for Pudding/Jams/Jellies

Many of us make jams, jellies,puddings at home itself.But unkowingly many vegeterians also tends to use a setting agent called "GELATIN"....whereas gelatin is a translucent, colorless, flavorless substance derived from the collagen inside animals' skin and bones.(Mostly from Beef).It is found in some gummy candies like  marshmallows, gelatin dessert, and some low-fat yogurt.

A vegeterian version for this gelling agent is FRUIT PECTIN...Its available in powder and liquid form.Has the same properties of gelatin but extracted from fruits.I use Surejell's Certo liquid pectin its just awesome with jams, jellies and puddings.

So friends, be sure to check the ingredients before you buy any product and have a safe and healthy lifestlye.

Ginger Juice Extraction

Easy way to extract juice out of ginger is to keep it inside a ziplock and freeze it.After few hours, transfer it to the chiller of your refridgerator compartment.When you need the juice, just take it and squeeze it and viola easy extract of ginger juice is ready.NO MORE CUTTING GINGERS AND GRINDING THEM.

Instant Coffee as Degree Coffee


When you are left only with instant coffee, but you like the taste of degree coffee only......simple, just scoop one tsp of instant coffee and add boiling water to make into a strong decoction and then add milk to it with sugar or splenda......Woooo......hot degree coffee at your table.

Eggless Strawberry Cheese Cake

 Strawberries - Called the Queen of the Fruits with a crown in her head.....Every kid likes this and so my son RS. When I went to megamart, I just saw fresh strawberries and got so excited to buy and got 2 boxes of it.They are very rich in Vitamin C and the dietary fiber in strawberries helps to keep digestion regular, as well as lowers blood pressure and curbs overeating.Fist thing came into my mind to try something new out of strawberries is the "Strawberry Cheesecake"



Ingredients:

Marie Biscuits - 1big packet
Butter - 3 tbsp
Strawberries - 12
Liquid Pectin - 2 tbsp.
Cream Cheese - 1 cup.
Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup


Method:

1.Powder marie biscuits and beat the mixture with butter to smooth and pour it into the glass moulds or bowls or cups and smooth them as a layer.
2.Freeze it till the other part is done and so this can get set well.
3.Blend strawberries in a mixer and add cream cheese and blend together.Then add powdered sugar and blend them again.
4.Pour it in a bowl.Add Liquid Pectin (I used Sure Jell's Certo) 
5.Then Pour this mixture slowly to the moulds on top of the biscuit mixture and decorate it with strawberries and refrigerate it for 2 hours.
6.Viola, your No-Bake Strawberry Cheese cake is ready.




Notes: I used Fruit Pectin to setting the cake bcoz I'm a vegeterian girl and hence din't want to use Gelatin....which is a source of Beef.Unknowingly, I see many bloggers also use gelatin and found they are also vegeterians.....So pls check ingredients before you buy.



























Choco-Almond Peda

Just wanna start this blog with a sweet recipe.I always believe in KISS...........yeah Keep it Simple & Straight.....and whatever I do at home will be simple and yet gets accolades for my work..Be it cooking or home organising or parenting techniques that I use et all.....As proud iam to be a woman and I wish all the great woman in the world "HAPPY WOMAN'sDAY" and this Choco-Almond Peda is for all you guys to sit back and relax........Try it out as it is very very quick and simple.





Ingredients:

Milk Powder - 4 tbsp
Cocoa Powder -2 tbsp
Marie Biscuit - 6
Almond Powder -3 tbsp
Milk or Milkmaid - To Kneed the dough
Sugar - 4 tbsp ( Omit if using Milkmaid)


Method:
1.Grind almonds and marie biscuits together.
2.Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
3.Kneed it adding milk very slowly lil by lil.
4.Greese your palms with butter or ghee and roll it well and flatten it between your palms.
5.Decorate it with multi-colored sugar candies or with almond or with sugar sprinkles or just serve plain.
