Many of us make jams, jellies, puddings at home itself. But unkowingly many vegeterians also tends to use a setting agent called "GELATIN"....whereas gelatin is a translucent, colorless, flavorless substance derived from the collagen inside animals' skin and bones.(Mostly from Beef). It is found in some gummy candies like marshmallows, gelatin dessert, and some low-fat yogurt.
A vegeterian version for this gelling agent is FRUIT PECTIN...Its available in powder and liquid form.Has the same properties of gelatin but extracted from fruits.I use Surejell's Certo liquid pectin its just awesome with jams, jellies and puddings.
So friends, be sure to check the ingredients before you buy any product and have a safe and healthy lifestlye.
